When We Hide Our Idols in Our Hearts
When revival broke out in Ephesus, new believers did something radical: they dragged their magic books into the street and burned them, millions of dollars’ worth by today’s standards. They knew a new Lord meant getting rid of everything that competed with Him.
We might not have silver idols on our shelves, but we have hidden gods in our hearts. In this message from Acts 19, we walk through the three idols that have tempted humanity since the Garden: my feelings, my possessions and my reputation. Every idol promises something only God can give. Jesus resisted every temptation because He was secure in the Father’s love. In Christ, you can be too.
